Last Card
Play Last Card online, two players
Last Card is the shedding game played in New Zealand kitchens and pubs. This table is built for two: you and a friend on another device, or you against the computer. House rules here match the common NZ version, not Uno and not casino Last Card.
Free, no ads, no download. Two seats: a friend on another device, or the computer.

Deal
Standard 52-card pack, no jokers. Seven cards each. The rest is the draw pile. The top card is turned to start the discard. The non-dealer plays first. Dealer swaps each hand.
The starter’s special applies: a two or five gives the non-dealer that many extra cards, then they play. A ten skips the non-dealer, so the dealer starts. An ace, and the non-dealer names the suit, then plays.
On your turn
Play one or more cards of the same rank. At least one of them must match the current suit or the rank of the card on top of the discard. If you can play, you must. If you cannot, draw one card. If that card plays, you may play it (plus any extra copies of that rank) or pass.
Specials
- 2: next player picks up two, or plays another two to stack. You may also play a two on a waiting five if it is the same suit.
- 5: next player picks up five, or plays another five to stack. You may also play a five on a waiting two if it is the same suit.
- 10: next player misses a turn. With two players, you play again.
- Ace: wild. Play it on anything except a waiting pickup, then name the next suit. You may go out on an ace.
Playing several twos or fives in one turn stacks the pickup. After a pickup is taken, that player’s turn is over.
Last card and scoring
When a play would leave you with one card, hit Last card. Forget, and you pick up two.
